Datum Engineers is a nationally recognized, award-winning structural engineering firm based in Texas, since 1937.  In 2023, Datum opened its first out of state office in Chicago, Illinois.

While the majority of our work is located in the Texas region, we have completed projects from Seattle to Miami. We are fortunate to get to work with some of the most talented architectural designers from around our nation and beyond.

Project Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Spend 80-85% of your time in an engineering role, organizing and executing all aspects of structural engineering design.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to understand project goals and coordinate designs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Perform structural analysis and design calculations, supervise team members, and conduct site visits.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and develop areas of specialty knowledge.
Business Development
  • Act as an ambassador with teammates, clients, and industry peers.
  • Participate in after-work industry events (2-4/month).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis).
  • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in structural design of buildings.
  • Current Professional Engineer License (structural engineering) in the US; eligible for Texas licensing within 3 months.

Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

San Antonio
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the execution of structural engineering design, including analysis, design, detailing, and development of plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and team members to understand project goals and coordinate designs.
  • Perform structural analysis and design calculations under the supervision of senior engineers.
  • Participate in site visits and construction administration.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing within the company and develop areas of specialty knowledge.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural or Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis).
  • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • 1-5 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental engineering principles and structural behavior.
  • Proficiency with various structural systems (concrete, steel, wood, masonry).

Senior BIM Technician

Dallas
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the creation and management of digital models for construction projects.
  • Coordinate with various disciplines to ensure seamless integration of designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the BIM team.
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to project standards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of BIM standards and processes.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Strong knowledge of BIM processes and software.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of BIM professionals.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and continuous improvement.
