Construction Tower Crane Collapse

Datum performs many challenging analyses that are related to many diverse situations. Such was the case when a tower crane that collapsed on top of a higher education facility during the disassembly process. The general contractor asked us to stabilize the portion of the structure that had been impacted during the collapse and to structurally assess the building.

Our examination included visual inspection of the existing structure and analysis of the impact force that was exerted on the structure through the progression of the crane’s collapse.

Once the crane was removed our team oversaw the rehabilitation of the structure assured it achieved the original structural integrity.
